SYNOPSIS & NAME:
Three things run through my mind at this very moment…
ONE, my life as I once knew it will never be the same.
TWO, the person I’m in love with might not even exist.
THREE, the deception that has unfolded before me has the power of life and death.
Sixteen year old, Breanna Davis, has heard the saying; life isn’t always what it seems…well, that saying rings true now more than ever. As horrifying visions appear before her, revealing tragedies that will forever change the fate of those she loves, she realizes that she may be the only person who can stop them from becoming reality.
Amongst the chaos of this new discovery, Bre is faced with a stranger, Eve, who moves in on Bre’s friends and begins to follow her every move. As Eve’s true motives begin to surface, Bre must fight against, not only the visions, but the dangers Eve holds close.
There is another secret kept- Collin, a boy held captive in Bre’s dreams, the boy she is secretly falling in love with but isn’t sure he even exists. As she tries to make it work with Austin, an old friend who could possibly be more, Bre battles against her feelings for Collin.
Bre is faced with an almost impossible decision, to choose her life or follow her destiny. If she doesn’t intercede, people will certainly die. If she does, her own life could be at stake. In the end, if she fails, she’ll lose everything.
Well everyone…after 150 likes on my Facebook page it’s time to reveal the back book description. Now, like I mentioned in my last post this isn’t the full synopsis (that’s coming very VERY soon) this is what will be on the back cover of my novel along with the synopsis.
I also wanted to mention that what you are about to see is not what the back of the book will look like. My cover artist is working on the cover as we speak!
Without further ado…here it is!
Well, the year is coming to an end and 2013 is upon us!
I want to first start out with this; I’m not normally one to do the typical “New Years Resolutions”. However, seeing as though I have A LOT to look forward to this year, I have decided to make a list.
- Publish my debut novel: For those of you who are new to my blog; I have a novel that I’ve been working on for 4 years and come 2013 I will be living out my dream and publishing it. This is both scary and exciting and I can’t wait until that final day that I get to hit the “Submit Button” and send my work out into the world! If you would like to see a sneak peek click HERE. (more sneak peeks to come)
- Finish my second book in this series: My debut novel will be a compilation of three books. I currently have 16 chapters of my second novel already completed and want to finish it before the end of the year. I would like to have that novel ready for publication by November 2013.
- Complete and launch my website.
- Read every book on my wish list: (1) Easy by Tammara Webber (2) The Coincidence of Callie & Kayden by Jessica Sorensen (currently reading now) (3) Dear John by Nicholas Sparks (currently reading now) (4) The Maze Runner series by James Dashner (5) Delirium series by Lauren Oliver (6) Bitter Angel by Megan Hand (7) Shatter Me series by Tahereh Mafi (8) The Lucky One by Nicholas Sparks (9) Safe Heaven by Nicholas Sparks (10) Before I Fall by Lauren Oliver (11) Switched by Amanda Hocking (12) Fallen Too Far by Abbi Glines (13) On Dublin Street by Samantha Young (14) Crossed/Reached by Ally Condie (15) The Vow by Dana Wilkerson (16) Fifty Shades of Grey by E.L. James (17) The Forgotten Ones by Laura Howard. — NOW, looking at this list you might think, that’s not a lot but I can guarantee this list will grow as the days progress. Also, I really don’t have a lot of time and come 2013 my life will get even crazier with very little time for myself.
- Take my kids to Disneyland: I know this one is a little strange, and you might not think this is “New Years Resolution” but I have (for years) wanted to take my kids to Disneyland but for one- reason- or- another couldn’t. Well this year is the year!!
I would love to hear what your New Year Resolutions are! Leave me a comment below!
I just sent my manuscript off to all my beta test readers…
Dramatic pause…crickets chirping in the distance…as I bit my nails
This for me is always the hard part. Even though I’ve had great response with my first round of beta readers (click HERE to see what they said about my novel) I will never get over that nervous feeling of will they like it? What if they hate it? Maybe I should have worked on it longer… Etc., Etc.
So for now this is me…
The time has come for my first round of reviews for my debut novel! These reviews are coming from my first beta test group that I’m very excited to share with all of you.
Disclaimer: The Beta Readers have not been compensated in any form and their reviews are true testimonies of what the reader thought about my novel.
P.S. I need to know what happened to Collin!! Dying here!! Get the second book out soon! I LOVE this book!”
“I have just had the opportunity to preview the book that Jaime Guerard is about to publish…WOW! I was so impressed with her ability to tell a story. Her writing style keeps you intrigued and certainly keeps you guessing. There is no predictability in the story line. Throughout the book, she constantly introduces new elements, with twists and turns. Good luck trying to figure out where she is going with the story. You will find out only when she wants you to know.
This is a book that will not only be enjoyed by young people, but people of every age. I can’t tell you how much I loved this book. I anxiously await the sequel!”
“It is rare for me to find a book that I can’t put down. Jaime’s novel has been a great read; exciting, even frightening at times, but also innocent and sincere. The story weaves together perfectly always leaving me wondering… what will happen next?”
“Each time I find out a new detail of the story it leaves me wanting more! I can’t wait to get my hands on this book and put all these “details” together!”
“Couldn’t put it down! Excitedly awaiting what happens in the rest of the series! A healthy mix of suspense, danger, romance and just a great plot make it a must read!”
Here are the next beta test readers. After they finish my MS I will post their reviews for all of you to see.
I had a big scare on Monday, one that took me back 4 years ago where I lost my manuscript 3 times. Click here to read about it.
To say that my heart stopped is an understatement. Luckily, from my past experience with this type of thing happening (having me loose my work) I thankfully had it backed up. But still, I couldn’t work, I couldn’t do anything. When you have a deadline and something like this happens you just start to go into panic mode.
It did turn out okay. With the help of my very good friend Mat, he was able to get my computer working again! I have to thank him because after he worked his “day job” (which was a 12 hour shift) he got right on the phone with me (he lives in California) and 4 hours later it was complete! It is a funny story though, he couldn’t remotely sign into my computer (the internet wasn’t working) so we had to facetime each other on our cell phones, talk on another phone and I had to hold my cell phone up to the computer so he could guide me. At the time it wasn’t fun but looking back, it’s nice how technology has grown (with facetime & skype) so I could do that type of thing and get the results I needed.
Well, I better go and continue editing, this little bump has set me back a little and now I have to work twice as hard to meet my deadline. So for now, it’s off to the cave!
Hello everyone, sorry for the break in my posts and “presence” here in the wonderful blogging world. For the past 5 days I have been in California visiting friends and family. Even though it was a wonderful visit, I have now come home to a very full email list & several chapters back from my editor that I have to go through. I’m trying to send my MS out to all my beta test readers within the next few weeks so I will be one busy lady.
So for now it’s off to editing and getting things ready!
P.S. My first round of beta readers are still submitting their reviews back to me (I only have a few left) so when I get those I will post them to my blog. Be on the lookout for that!
Here’s another exciting post that I get to write. I’ve been waiting patiently to get to this point, and now, It’s finally here!
The next step is sending my MS out to a beta testing group. For those of you who don’t know what a beta group means, it’s where you send out your manuscript to a group of people (like pilot-test of a product/novel) and those people will read the novel, make comments, suggestions, give you insight as what they did or didn’t like and of course rate your novel.
This is both exciting and terrifying all at the same time. Exciting because I get to experience how others react to what I’ve kept so close to me for so long but terrifying because “putting yourself out there” is a scary thing.
I have randomly chosen a lucky group of people who will get to have the “first look” (beta test) into my novel! If you are chosen I will send you an email within a week. So check your emails often.
DISCLAIMER: The group for my beta test is a random pick and am not accepting submissions at this time. In no way are any of these beta testing individuals compensated in anyway and are doing so at there own will.
I will be posting a testimonial section on my blog after I receive back all submissions. This process will take a little bit of time so please be patient and I will update you all once those testimonials are up.
HOWEVER…I have had the first round of beta testers (6 different individuals) read my earlier writings of my novel (some have read the whole novel, others partial & some only sent out the synopsis & mockup cover design). I will release those reviews soon. So be on the lookout for that!
I’VE DECIDED ON A NAME FOR MY BOOK!!!!
BIG sigh of relief!!! Now I can stop stressing about it!
I knew it would come to me, but with booking my cover artist in January I knew I didn’t have much time to figure it out.
I will be revealing the name soon but I just couldn’t keep my excitement to myself!
Click HERE for a little bit about what happened with the name and why I’m so excited to have another one, THE PERFECT ONE!
